Chariot and Horse Pit Museum

Built in 1984, the museum was constructed in the ancient architectural style with three main exhibition series: A Brief History of Guo Kingdom, The Art of Stone Inscription in History and The Chariot and Horse Pit of Guo Kingdom. As the only large state cemetery between the East and West Zhou dynasties, the pit marks the beginning of burying an important figure with real horses and soldiers. The underground pit is arranged in ranking order and the origin of burying terra-cotta warriors and horses in the Qin Dynasty. Since the discovery of the pit in 1956, more than 800 ruin sites and 30,000 relics have been unearthed, amongst which the mausoleums of Emperor Guo Ji and Guo Zhong were excavated.
