Jinghua Park Scenic Area

Honoring 5,000 years of Chinese civilization, the Jinghua Park Scenic Area displays the interconnected culture and history of China's many nationalities. The landscape of the Scenic Area is arranged according to nationality and geography, providing visitors an illuminative experience of the rich and varied Middle Kingdom cultures. Depicting the lives of China's diverse peoples, the Park recreates notable characteristics of each nationality. These include the high stilted wooden houses of the Miao, the yurts of the Mongolians, and the houses of the Uygur. Also represented are Buddhist Pagodas and the dwellings of the Tujia, Zhuang, Korean, Zang and Bai nationalities. Of particular delight are displays of the colorful national costumes of each region. Festivals also play a key part in the workings of the Scenic Area. The Water-Splashing Festival of the Dai, Cultural Festivals of the northerners, and the Torch Festival of the Yi regularly create a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. These displays, festivals, dance demonstrations and song performances serve the invaluable mission of promoting cultural exchange and national unity.

The Jinghua Park Scenic Area is a miniature model of Chinese geography. A winding model of the Great Wall surrounds the Scenic Area, while, off the coast, a symbolic ropeway connects the Pearl Island of Taiwan to the Mainland. Large-scale models portray China's iconic waterways, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, flowing through majestic passes. The 50-meter-tall Palace of Heaven and Earth houses three important structures: the Palace Halls of Enlightened Emperors, the Hall of Faithful Ministers and Famous Generals, and the House of Central Plains Celebrities. The House of Central Plains Celebrities is the first of its kind built to celebrate the splendid culture of life along the Yellow River. China's rich spiritual traditions are also lauded in the Park's showcase of ancient temples, monasteries and palaces. These monuments convey a reverence to China's practices of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.

As a classical garden, beautiful and stylized botanical features characterize the Jinghua Park Scenic Area. Composed of several distinct gardens, the Scenic Area incorporates the Garden of Pines, the Garden of Bamboos, the Garden of Chrysanthemums, and the Garden of Plum Blossoms, to name just a few. For visitors planning to extend their stay, the Jinghuayuan Hotel offers elegant accommodations, complete with Chinese cultural and artistic elements. Inside the hotel, visitors peruse galleries of famous paintings, stone inscriptions and sculptures. This peaceful and pastoral hotel is ideal for both business and holiday. Meanwhile, the Jinghua Mineral Spring Vacation Village and Jinghua Mineral Spring Rest Home provide rejuvenation and relaxation for the Scenic Area's visitors. Composed of over 30 microelements, the mineral spring water has well-regarded therapeutic effects.
