Shaolin Martial Arts Academy

Train under the current Shaolin Warrior monks at Shaolin Temple, located at the foot of Shaoshi Mountain. The Temple was built during the Beiwei Dynasty (495), the "first temple on earth." Training programs range from a short term program of one week to a more intensive 2 years program. River Rafting

Strap on your life jacket as you raft down Yaoshan's River, located in Pingdinshing City. The River is fast flowing with many exciting drops and choppy rapids, making it challenging for even the expert rafter. The River is 85m at its widest and only 5m at its narrowest. Located 42km from XiaXia is the Xixiaguan River, 12km in length. The course takes 4-5 hours to complete, passing by the Guan River Beach and Jiulong Beach. Drift along the 36km long Luo River, the longest River in Central china, earning the nickname "Thousand-mile Luohe Rafting." Your rafting adventure begins at Xishi Lake and ends at the Dayu Shushui Hilltops alongside the Yumen River.

Getting there: Take bus from Zhengzhou Railway Station to the Lushan Bus Station. From there take the bus to Yaoshan Village and then take a local taxi to Yaoshan Grand Canyon Rafting.

Xixiaguan River Rafting

Getting there: Take bus from Zhengzhou to Xixia County , which should take about 4 hours. From there take a local taxi to Xixia Guan River Rafting.

Luo River Rafting
Add: upper middle Luo River, within the borders of Guxian Township, Luoning County, Luoyang City
Getting there: Take bus from Zhengzhou to Luoyang City, then take local taxi to site. Luoyang is approximately 280 km from Zhengzhou and takes about 4 hours to reach by bus.

Kaifeng Night Market

Address: Street corner Gulou Jie and Madao Jie

Hours: 6:30pm - late
The locals fill the streets of Kaifeng's bustling night market daily, savoring local and international delicacies. Fill your stomach with sesame seed cakes, onion pancakes, sweet potatoes, peanut cake and crab and lamb kabobs. A must try is rouhe, a local snack of fried vegetables and pork or mutton in flatbread. Be adventurous and join the locals at one of the rickety tables as you stuff your mouths.
